SAFETY FIRST!

Before you can start your training at Falcon AirLink there are a number of requirements to be met:

    1. Maximum student size & weight is 6'4" and/or 240 pounds.

    2. You must be at least 17 years old to hold a Private Pilot certificate and 18 years old to hold a Commercial Pilot certificate or Instructor certificates

    3. A criminal background check may be conducted prior to the start of training.

    4. You must have obtained an FAA Student Pilot medical certificate to train for a Private Pilot certificate or a Third Class medical certificate to train for Commercial Pilot or Instructor certificates. You can obtain details of the nearest FAA designee medical examiner at http://ame.cami.jccbi.gov/

    5. You must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language fluently.

    6. You must be a US Citizen or US National. To establish that you are a US Citizen or US National, you will be required to present a current US Passport or your US birth certificate and to receive a one time Endorsement in your Log Book before you start your training.

    7. Renter's Insurance MUST be in force prior to the pilot/student pilot being allowed to go solo in any aircraft owned or operated by Falcon AirLink.

If you are not a US Citizen or US National, you are subject to the Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP). You must be assessed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to establish that you are not a threat to aviation or national security (49 CFR Part 1552). This is a new requirement added to the regulations in October 2004 and you must go through the following steps:-

  1. Go to the web site https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov/ which details the process steps to be followed.

  2. Near the bottom of the page is a line “If you are an AFSP Candidate, and are in need of a new account on the system, please select the link in order to fill out an account request template”.

  3. Complete and submit the On-Line Account Request Form and subsequent verifications. You will need to provide an e-mail address.

  4. You will receive an e-mail with your User ID and password. You can then log in to https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov/

  5. This takes you to the Alien Flight School Program Application for Flight School Candidates.

  6. Complete this application, submit a copy of your passport (fax or scanned image acceptable) and pay the fee (credit card acceptable)

  7. You will then be notified by e-mail that you have to submit your fingerprints. AFSP suggest using the web site http://www.tsc-csc.com/printoffices/ to provide help on how and where to have your fingerprints taken. You may not commence your training and must wait for Final Notification from the AFSP.

  8. Once you and your Flight Training Provider have received a "Permission to Receive Training" confirmation notice from the AFSP, you may begin training

  9. If the TSA subsequently determines that you are considered an aviation or security threat you will have to stop your training.

Please note that there will be no refund of fees paid for training or training material already received if this should happen, and you will be required to settle any payments due on your account.

"Taking flight training without an appropriate visa could be a violation of your immigration status and could result in your arrest and removal from the United States; therefore, it is important that you have a visa that permits you to take flight training in the United States. If you do not possess the correct visa, or if you have questions pertaining to your visa status or the appropriate visas for flight training, please contact your local Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services at 1-800-375-5283 or at, http://www.uscis.gov or the State Department Consular Affairs Office for assistance. The AFSP will deny flight training requests from candidates who are present in the United States illegally or who do not have an appropriate visa for flight training. Fees paid for denied applications are not refundable."
